Ethereum’s latest major upgrade Dencun went live on the Sepolia test network on Tuesday, leaving just one more testnet before its anticipated “proto-danksharding” feature comes to fruition. Dencun deployment on Sepolia commenced at 22:51 UTC Tuesday and was finalized soon after. “Blobs are now flowing in Sepolia,” Parithosh Jayanthi, DevOps engineer at the Ethereum Foundation, wrote in a post on X. “Uneventful testnet forks are the best ones!”

💰 New spot bitcoin ETFs amass 150,000 BTC as GBTC market share falls to 36%
The nine new spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds have now amassed more than 150,000 ($6.5 billion) in assets under management, excluding Grayscale’s converted GBTC fund, according to data from K33 Research. These ETFs are BlackRock (IBIT), Fidelity (FBTC), Bitwise (BITB), Ark 21Shares (ARKB), Invesco (BTCO), VanEck (HODL), Valkyrie (BRRR), Franklin Templeton (EZBC) and WisdomTree (BTCW).

According to Manhattan federal prosecutors, Mark Scott, a former partner at the U.S. law firm Locke Lord, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for his involvement in a $400 million fraudulent cryptocurrency scheme. The sentencing took place on Thursday, and Scott was found guilty of conspiracy to commit money laundering and conspiracy to commit bank fraud in November 2019, linked to his role in the OneCoin cryptocurrency fraud.

Indonesia’s Ministry of Finance said the total tax revenue from crypto in 2023 was $31.7 million (Indonesian Rupiah 467.27 billion). The country’s tax revenue last year fell 62% compared to the partial collection period in 2022, when the tax regime was introduced in May 2022. Crypto transactions in Indonesia are subject to dual taxation: a 0.1% income tax and a 0.11% value-added tax (VAT). Additionally, local crypto exchanges must contribute around 0.04% tax to the national crypto bourse.
