Zero Gravity Labs leads 2024 with a $250 million "token purchase commitment." Additionally, it raised $40 million for a decentralized AI operating system and $35 million earlier in the year. The rise of AI tools has spurred blockchain projects to explore decentralization, aiming to prevent data monopolies.

Monad
Paradigm spearheaded a $225 million round for Monad Labs, developing a new layer-1 blockchain to rival Ethereum and Solana. Monad's innovative Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) uses parallelization for faster, more efficient processing and instant block finality. Its compatibility with EVM bytecode allows easy migration of Ethereum apps.

Celestia
The Celestia Foundation secured $100 million from Bain Capital Crypto and others. Celestia's roadmap promises to outperform Visa-level throughput with 1 GB blocks capable of running multiple Visa networks simultaneously. For comparison, Ethereum achieves 50 TPS, while Solana peaks at 65,000 TPS but averages 400 TPS.

Berachain
Berachain raised $100 million in a Series B round led by Framework Ventures and Brevan Howard Digital. Using a Simple Agreement for Future Tokens (SAFT), the funds will drive global expansion and economic growth initiatives across regions like Southeast Asia and Africa.

Optimism
In March 2024, the Optimism Foundation raised $90 million through a private sale of 19.5 million OP tokens. The tokens, subject to a two-year lockup, can be delegated for governance participation, expanding the project's reach while maintaining treasury oversight.

Story Protocol
Story Protocol, developed by PIP Labs, raised $80 million in a Series B led by a16z crypto. The Layer-1 blockchain tokenizes intellectual property (IP), enabling creators to protect and manage original works in the AI era, combating theft and fostering innovation.

IoTeX
IoTeX received a $50 million investment from multiple funds, including SNZ Capital and Borderless Capital. The funds will accelerate DePIN ecosystem growth through $IOTX token staking and the DePINsurf accelerator program.

Movement
Movement Labs raised $38 million in a Series A led by Polychain Capital to bring Facebook's Move Virtual Machine to Ethereum. Founded by Vanderbilt dropouts Rushi Manche (21) and Cooper Scanlon (24), the team aims to "make blockchain security sexy" with Movement L2, a layer-2 Ethereum blockchain built on the Move programming paradigm.
