DEX trading volume is one of the most reliable metrics for measuring blockchain popularity because, while it can be artificially inflated, doing so is quite costly. This volume is influenced by several factors, such as the number of users on the chain, the development of the chain's ecosystem, the liquidity available, and more, making it a crucial indicator of a blockchain's success.

Here’s how we calculated it: We considered only blockchains with DEX trading volume as of October 23, 2022. We totaled DEX trading volume from October 2023 to October 2024, then subtracted the total from October 2022 to October 2023. Using these figures, we calculated the annual percentage growth for each blockchain.
