Discussion of Holochain and Holo's technology and ecosystem. https://holo.host https://holochain.org Official Announcement Channels: t.me/holochain, t.me/holohosting For in-depth conversations: chat.holochain.org
Personal AI has been in the Holochain ecosystem conversation from the very beginning. https://youtu.be/NKSmy1BFyxk?si=_vIvQy51dEy8uOz2

Once the holochain ecosystem has developed a reasonable amount, agents will have large amount of personal data because of the hApps they use. Someone could then establish and train an LLM on all this data where the agents could opt in and then get reimbursed or potentially provide some compute for the LLM giving them partial ownership of it. Another configuration could be a lightweight personal LLM that can be installed and trained on your personal data that could become a personal assistant in a way. But anyway, I digress
That’s great news! I found a lot of the research material for my thesis on Internet Archive and so it was a big disruption in that sense. I live in New Zealand and we have also had large scale cyber attacks on public health databases and services. Holochain would be a great solution to those problems as well but also on the personal health data side too with having sovereign control over personal health data and choosing who you share it with. These are not new ideas as I remember Mary talking about them in an AMA but it would be great to soon see some action in those directions…
Читать полностью…It seems like the most logical implementation of the two systems would be filecoin as the core data storage layer (the archive) and holochain as the caching layer for accessing and modifying data (the archivist). This is especially relevant with the big issues Internet Archive has recently in 2023 and 2024 illuminating severe vulnerabilities in centralised storage. I don’t know if there is a networked relationship with Internet Archive but this could be another very strong partnership that would utilise the inherent strengths of the holochain and holo architecture…

Читать полностью…how they rolling out with countersigning being unstable?
Читать полностью…Hmm if you compare this to web 1.0 and web 2.0. crypto is now web 1.0 with static transactions and holo can give "crypto sessions". Thats 1+2 = web 3.0 👀
Читать полностью…Believe me once I read it I just forwarded the message for my other acc
Читать полностью…Thanks. After 7 years as a community volunteer I hope😎, I have it mostly figured out. 😝

Why use bitcoin instead of fiat?
That’s a complicated question with lots of arguments supporting different world views.
HOT was sold as prepayment for hosting services. So the first logical answer is, give people what they paid for. Setting up payment systems for national currencies could also be included. And every new currency involves developer time, no matter how simple it may seem to us on the outside.
So why use HOT if ppl basically could just use fiat (if demanded)
Читать полностью…The Internet Archive runs DWeb Camp every summer and Holochain has been a supporter and sponsor. They know about each other. 😎
I hope what you are pointing to is happening. It sure seems logical, especially after the attacks.
That’s great news! Establishing reputable lines of communication is the biggest hurdle in the space I imagine. Looking forward to seeing where they might lead!
Читать полностью…Countersigning is not required for commits to source chain. It provides an extra level of security for exchange transactions.
Читать полностью…Great example. I think another opportunity would be a project like filecoin for example which requires a large amount of storage space and has high transaction fees. Holochain and holo could provide a bridge between onchain and off chain file interactions while ensuring everything remains cryptographically secure. I understand that this could be fully achieved just on holochain without a project like filecoin in the picture but in terms of getting the word out about holo and holochain, it could be a good move even if it does feel sideways. Just something to think about
Читать полностью…For example there were some crypto games that required a transaction every move, you can imagine the expense. Imagine if you have 1 transaction to a holochain (and/or host) "session".
The profit model can even be something like every 10 moves you have to do a new transaction on the crypto side, you can "pack" moves.
You now still have cryptographically secure moves. Thats just one example. You can also cryptographically secure nfts (which is now just a transaction with a link to a unsecured jpeg) and sofort.
Can even start a new NFT paradigm. Replayable digital paintings. Who knows what the market can come up with. They are doing impeccable stuff already with very little resources.
A lot of gaps seem to can be filled in the crypto space with the solutions holo already built
I always talk ab this for friends and many are already here but I have problems to explain... this is 100% now
Читать полностью…Appreciate your time for explaining it. I could never read a more perfect explanation b4.
