Maybe in the broadest sense. And Not really. (Based on a quick look at the substrate website)
Substrate focuses on building inter-operable Blockchains. That’s their vision. What does that even mean? As we’ve seen so far, most Blockchains seem to be created to give people free tokens. Or create tokens for some sort of weird exchange. Some version of creating money for people.
Holochain focuses on creating distributed applications. Giving people control of their data and their communities through their software. Anything can be an application. There are no Blockchains in Holochain.
Holochain’s vision is much bigger than connecting applications. It’s about connecting people through applications. It’s more than just wordsmithing. It’s a completely different way to look at life.
