I think i have a defective unit, mine doesn’t blink or lights at all on back only power light. It connects fine for several hours but then disconnects on its own. Lets see what they tell me in forum. Thanks.

A restart would take what maybe 30/45 seconds or so? It will hardly touch your uptime imo. No idea why yours is doing that, hopefully you get answer on forum but I imagine all is fine if you can enter the dashboard etc. The app fzappa mentioned further up is good to have on your phone to track and alert you to any downtime etc

I am newly enrolled on the Alpha (extra 300), my Holoport is blinking blue for 20 hours now which indicates updates/new new install etc. I am on 0.1.6 and have been for a while, It has been on for over 12 months, I can still access the console and login to it. It has done this numerous times in the past and I know if I restart it, it will go back to Aurora. Why does it do this? Shall I just leave it blinking blue or restart. Like I say, this happens quite a lot but now I am in Alpha, I have to hit the 95% uptime. My start date on Alpha was 1st June so not a good start for me if blinking blue means it’s not available to devs (even though I can login to it. Thanks

Holochain Update

The Holochain Beta 0.2.0 release happened on 27 April. The intention was for the next release, including the dev tooling and end-user binaries, to follow within approximately ten days, following a fix for a small gossip bug discovered after the release.

Over the past few weeks we’ve seen performance issues with gossip, unrelated to that bug. The core dev team has discovered two possibly related issues of timing mismatches, and the resulting impact of timeout errors may be the cause. The beta 0.2.0 release replaced the QUIC transport with a new WebRTC transport and as such made significant changes to how Holochain handles certain networking aspects, so it is not entirely surprising that a significant bug emerged during wider testing.

The Holochain dev team is actively investigating, and improving our test infrastructure as a side result. The teams are also investigating whether this affects anything in the 0.1.3 or 0.1.5 releases. It is possible that we’ll do a full release of dev tooling on a 0.1.5 release before 0.2.1.

As a reminder the dev tooling and end-user binaries includes: hc CLI tool, Holonix dev environment, Dev Hub, Launcher, Scaffolding, Tryorama (testing infrastructure), JS/Rust clients, and at least one demo app.

Actually, it's been a long time since I looked at the back of my HP. It is facing to let me see frontal aurora. Also I log into console almost everyday and check its network connection with uptime robot App. So I don't worry. Later when I get home I'll check how mine are and I'll tell you. 🙏
