If both peers agree then the payout from the proposal happens. If one disagrees then it will start the arbitration process when the deadline hits. Keep in mind, one person will get 0 BTC back if that process happens. https://bisq.wiki/Arbitration

I'm not sure what all of these comments on this platform really does. There are systems in place with the dao and mediators are bonded roles. If there is an issue with any, it can be brought up and handled according. That all being said, I'm not seeing mass reports of issues with any mediators aside from this issue here. Hello, I'm still figuring out what happened to the deposit of my failed trade; in the wiki it says that the multisig tx would fail and I would get back the btc but I can't verify if this happened. I actually only see my deposit as a valid transaction on the chain (ended up in my bisq wallet), and in bisq I can see the btc went into a multisig transaction and never got back to me

I don't know the details of your case, but if one or both disagree with the mediator you can take it to arbitration. The dao also exists if you feel there is a serious issue.

to follow up on the "incompetent mediator" with whom you had "multiple issues", said mediator also checked past cases he had with you, and only another one pops up, where you also were late to release btc, but in that case he gave you no penalty at all. Rules state that a seller late at releasing btc can get up to 15% of trade amount as penalty.
First time you received no penalty, second time you received a 10% penalty, so in both cases the outcome was better than what the rules would have you pay.
Not only that, but the 10% was just reviewed to be much less than that.
It is my personal opinion that your complaints about an "incompetent mediator" who caused "multiple issues" have no basis.

i found my way to go along with that because i still making profit. so its not only complaining because have no other stuff to do all day..... but serious, something is not good there and there are already people with knowledge what, when with whom happend and how often. its up to bisq to look at it serious or not. we only share our experience to a certain point.
