Buildings that breathe and consume CO₂ using ancient bacteria.

I haven’t read the academic paper, but living in such a structure would require decades of research, at least 50 years in order to properly assess it's long-term effects on health and overall livability.

Can we truly say there's no risk of cyanobacteria contaminating the air or water, and that it’s completely safe for humans and animals? I find that hard to believe.

The real question is why aren't we planting more trees? It's literally their natural function.

With all the money poured into developing this experimental technology, we could've planted millions of trees that don't need caretakers at all, and are scientifically proven over millions of years in real world situations to actually work, and apart from not just clean CO2, but provide myriad other side benefits, ecosystem protection, habitat for other species, fruit growth etc, etc.
