🌱🌱🌱Cockroach Theory🌱🌱🌱
A beautiful speech by Sundar Pichai - an IIT-MIT Alumnus and Global HeadGoogle Chrome:
The cockroach theory for self development
At a restaurant, a cockroach suddenly flew from somewhere and sat on a lady.
She started screaming out of fear.
With a panic stricken face and trembling voice, she started jumping, with both her hands desperately trying to get rid of the cockroach.
Her reaction was contagious, as everyone in her group also got panicky.
The lady finally managed to push the cockroach away but ...it landed on another lady in the group.
Now, it was the turn of the other lady in the group to continue the drama.
The waiter rushed forward to their rescue.
In the relay of throwing, the cockroach next fell upon the waiter.
The waiter stood firm, composed himself and observed the behavior of the cockroach on his shirt.
When he was confident enough, he grabbed it with his fingers and threw it out of the restaurant.
Sipping my coffee and watching the amusement, the antenna of my mind picked up a few thoughts and started wondering, was the cockroach responsible for their histrionic behavior?
If so, then why was the waiter not disturbed?
He handled it near to perfection, without any chaos.
It is not the cockroach, but the inability of those people to handle the disturbance caused by the cockroach, that disturbed the ladies.
I realized that, it is not the shouting of my father or my boss or my wife that disturbs me, but it's my inability to handle the disturbances caused by their shouting that disturbs me.
It's not the traffic jams on the road that disturbs me, but my inability to handle the disturbance caused by the traffic jam that disturbs me.
More than the problem, it's my reaction to the problem that creates chaos in my life.
Lessons learnt from the story:
I understood, I should not react in life.
I should always respond.
The women reacted, whereas the waiter responded.
Reactions are always instinctive whereas responses are always well thought of.
A beautiful way to understand............LIFE.
Person who is HAPPY is not because Everything is RIGHT in his Life..He is HAPPY because his Attitude towards Everything in his Life is Right..!!
The best ever argument on faith.
An atheist professor of philosophy speaks to his class on the problem science has with God, The Almighty.
He asks one of his new students to stand and…..
Prof:: So you believe in God?
Student: Absolutely, sir.
Prof:: Is God good?
Student:: Sure.
Prof:: Is God all-powerful?
Student:: Yes..
Prof:: My brother died of cancer even though he prayed to God to heal him. Most of us would attempt to help others who are ill. But God didn’t. How is this God good then? Hmm?
(Student is silent.)
Prof:: You can’t answer, can you? Let’s start again, young fella. Is God good?
Student:: Yes.
Prof:: Is Satan good?
Student:: No.
Prof:: Where does Satan come from?
Student:: From….God…
Prof:: That’s right. Tell me son, is there evil in this world?
Student:: Yes.
Prof:: Evil is everywhere, isn’t it? And God did make everything. Correct?
Student:: Yes.
Prof:: So who created evil?
(Student does not answer.)
Prof:: Is there sickness? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness? All these terrible things exist in the world, don’t they?
Student:: Yes, sir.
Prof:: So, who created them?
(Student has no answer.)
Prof:: Science says you have 5 senses you use to identify and observe the world around you. Tell me, son…Have you ever seen God?
Student:: No, sir.
Prof:: Tell us if you have ever heard your God?
Student:: No, sir.
Prof:: Have you ever felt your God, tasted your God, smelt your God? Have you ever had any sensory perception of God for that matter?
Student:: No, sir. I’m afraid I haven’t.
Prof:: Yet you still believe in Him?
Student:: Yes.
Prof:: According to empirical, testable, demonstrable protocol, science says your GOD doesn’t exist.
What do you say to that, son?
Student:: Nothing. I only have my faith.
Prof:: Yes. Faith. And that is the problem science has.
Student:: Professor, is there such a thing as heat?
Prof:: Yes.
Student:: And is there such a thing as cold?
Prof:: Yes.
Student:: No sir. There isn’t.
(The lecture the after becomes very quiet with this turn of events.)
Student:: Sir, you can have lots of heat, even more heat, superheat, mega heat, white heat, a little heat or no heat..
But we don’t have anything called cold. We can hit 458 degrees below zero which is no heat, but we can’t go any further after that. There is no such thing as cold. Cold is only a word we use to describe the absence of heat. We cannot measure cold. Heat is energy Cold is not the opposite of heat, sir, just the absence of it .
(There is pin-drop silence in the lecture theatre.)
Student:: What about darkness, Professor? Is there such a thing as darkness?
Prof:: Yes. What is night if there isn’t darkness?
Student:: You’re wrong again, sir. Darkness is the absence of something. You can have low light, normal light, bright
light, flashing light…..But if you have no light constantly, you have nothing and it’s called darkness, isn’t it? In reality, darkness isn’t. If it were you would be able to make darkness darker, wouldn’t you?
Prof:: So what is the point you are making, young man?
Student:: Sir, my point is your philosophical premise is flawed.
Prof:: Flawed? Can you explain how?
Student:: Sir, you are working on the premise of duality. You argue there is life and then there is death, a good God and a bad God. You are viewing the concept of God as something finite, something we can measure. Sir, science can’t even explain a thought.. It uses electricity and magnetism, but has never seen, much less fully understood either. To view death as the opposite of life is to be ignorant of the fact that death cannot exist as a substantive thing. Death is
not the opposite of life: just the absence of it.
Now tell me,do you teach your students that they evolved from a monkey?
Prof:: If you are referring to the natural evolutionary process, yes, of course, I do.
Student:: Have you ever observed evolution with your own eyes, sir?
(The Professor shakes his head with a smile, beginning to realize where theargument is going.)
🌱🌱🌱“The tale of two pebbles”.🌱🌱🌱
Many years ago in a small town, a farmer had the misfortune of owing a large amount of money to the moneylender. The moneylender, who was old and ugly, fancied the farmer's beautiful daughter so he proposed a bargain. He said he would waive the farmer's debt if he could marry the farmer’s daughter. Both the farmer and his daughter were horrified by the proposal.
The moneylender told them that he would put a black pebble and a white pebble into an empty bag. The girl would then have to pick one pebble from the bag. If she picked the black pebble, she would become the moneylender's wife and her father's debt would be forgiven. If she picked the white pebble she need not marry him and her father's debt would still be forgiven. But if she refused to pick a pebble, her father would be thrown into jail.
They were standing on a pebble strewn path in the farmer's garden. As they talked, the moneylender bent over to pick up two pebbles. As he picked them up, the sharp-eyed girl noticed that he had picked up two black pebbles and put them into the bag. He then asked the girl to pick her pebble from the bag.
What would you have done if you were the girl? If you had to advise her, what would you have told her?
🍃🍃🍃Careful analysis would produce three possibilities:
1. The girl should refuse to take a pebble.
2. The girl should show that there were two black pebbles in the bag and expose the moneylender as a cheat.
3. The girl should pick a black pebble and sacrifice herself in order to save her father from his debt and imprisonment.
The girl put her hand into the moneybag and drew out a pebble. Without looking at it, she fumbled and let it fall onto the pebble-strewn path where it immediately became lost among all the other pebbles.
"Oh, how clumsy of me," she said. "But never mind, if you look into the bag for the one that is left, you will be able to tell which pebble I picked."
Since the remaining pebble is black, it must be assumed that she had picked the white one. And since the moneylender dared not admit his dishonesty, the girl changed what seemed an impossible situation into an advantageous one.
This story is to spot the difference between lateral thinking and logical thinking originally quoted by a well known author Edward de Bono.🌷🌷🍀🌷🌷
Chickens come home to roost, and so do your thoughts. Be careful what sort of thoughts you send out.
The thoughts you send out to others will have a far greater impact upon you than upon them. Unlike a material possession, when you release a thought or give it to someone else, it also stays with you. It may remain buried in your subconscious long after your conscious mind has forgotten about it. Like chickens that return to the coop at night, such thoughts may flash into your consciousness when you least expect them. When your thoughts are positive, you never have to worry about the damage you may do to yourself through negative thinking. Cheerful, productive, happy thoughts that are buried in your subconscious bring positive results when they recur, and by their presence they encourage the maintenance of a positive attitude in all that you do.
Seeds of Thought
A thought “magnetized” with emotion may be compared to a seed which, when planted in fertile soil, germinates, grows, and multiplies itself over and over again, until that one small seed becomes countless millions of seeds of the same brand!
Aravind J K:
When I started using pen in my primary school, and I made a mistake, I would try hard to erase it before submitting to my teacher. Sometimes, I use chalk to clean my mistake but it later re-appeared. So I began to use saliva, it worked, but only to leave holes in my books. My teachers then used to beat me for being outrageously dirty. But all I tried to do was to cover my error.
One day, a kind hearted teacher who loved me so much called me aside and he said, " Anytime you make a mistake, just cross it and move on" . He said further " Trying to erase your mistakes would only damage your book to nothing. I told him in protest that I don't want people to see my mistake. My loving teacher laughed and said " Trying to erase your mistake will make more people know about your mess and the stigma is for life".
Have you made some mistakes in life? Cross it over and move on. Don't expose yourself as a result of trying to cover your mistakes.
Better things are ahead of you.
Strike out your 2017 mistakes and move into 2018 with a fresh note.

Student:: Since no one has ever observed the process of evolution at work and cannot even prove that this process is an on-going endeavor, are you not teaching your opinion, sir? Are you not a scientist but a preacher? (The class is in uproar.)
Student:: Is there anyone in the class who has ever seen the Professor’s brain?
(The class breaks out into laughter.)
Student:: Is there anyone here who has ever heard the Professor’s brain, felt it, touched or smelt it? No one appears to have done so. So, according to the established rules of empirical, stable, demonstrable protocol, science says that you have no brain,sir. With all due respect, sir, how do we then trust your lectures, sir?
(The room is silent. The professor stares at the student, his face unfathomable.)
Prof:: I guess you’ll have to take them on faith, son.
Student:: That is it sir… The link between man & god is FAITH . That is all that keeps things moving & alive.
🌱🌱🌱A 9 Year Old Boy Wrote A Letter To NASA Asking For a Job-🌱🌱🌱
He wrote this-
“Dear NASA,
My name is Jack Davis and I would like to apply for the planetary protection officer job. I may be nine but I think I would be fit for the job. One of the reasons is my sister says I am an alien. Also, I have seen almost all the space movies and alien movies I can see. I have also seen the show Marvel Agents of Shield and hope to see the movie Men in Black. I am great at vidieo [sic] games. I am young, so I can learn to think like an alien.
Sincerely,

🌱🌱🌱He too got a reply from the Director of the Planetary science-🌱🌱🌱
“Dear Jack,
I hear you are a ‘Guardian of the Galaxy’ and that you’re interested in being a NASA Plantary Protection Officer. That’s great!
Our Plantary Protection Officer position is really cool and is very important work. It’s about protecting Earth from tiny microbes when we bring back samples from the Moon, asteroids and Mars. It’s also about protecting other planets and moons from our germs as we responsibly explore the Solar System.
We are always looking for bright future scientists and engineers to help us, so I hope you will study hard and do well in school. We hope to see you here at NASA one of these days!
Sincerely,
Dr. James L. Green
Director, Planetary Science Division”

Cherish your visions and your dreams as they are the children of your soul, the blueprints of your ultimate achievements.
Читать полностью…The privilege of bringing children into the world carries with it the responsibility of teaching them the fundamentals of sound character.
One of life’s greatest joys is the sense of wonder that accompanies the arrival of a tiny new human being into the world. But that joy is accompanied by a tremendous responsibility that perfectly encapsulates the need for personal initiative. You can provide children with all the physical advantages of a good childhood, but unless you strive to set a good example for them to follow, you will know only dismay as they reach adulthood and blossom into purposeless drifters. Your personal initiative, whether or not you are raising a child, must always incorporate exemplary behavior. You cannot take ethical shortcuts, big or small, without other people observing them and assuming that this behavior is something you wouldn’t mind having turned back on yourself. Certainly you will make mistakes, but if you have always striven for the best course, others will remember it and treat you accordingly.

Your time is limited, don’t waste it living someone else’s life.
Don’t be trapped by dogma, which is living the result of other people’s thinking.
Don’t let the noise of other’s opinion drowned your own inner voice.
And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition, they somehow already know what you truly want to become.
Everything else is secondary.
See you at the top 🥇✌️
