The FBI is searching for North Korean hacker Pak In — one of the key members of the Lazarus cybercrime network.
Lazarus has been linked to some of the largest cyber heists in recent years: the Bangladesh Central Bank hack ($81M), the Axie Infinity attack ($625M), the Harmony Bridge breach ($100M), Stake ($41M), Atomic Wallet ($100M), WazirX ($230M), and Bybit ($1.4B).
These attacks have brought North Korea billions of dollars, helping the regime evade sanctions.

🇰🇵 The Lazarus Group is behind the Bybit hack worth ~$1.5 billion.
This was reported by Arkham Intelligence, citing on-chain analyst ZachXBT.
According to the analysis by Taproot Wizards co-founder Eric Wall, the North Korean hackers are likely converting all ERC-20 tokens to ETH, then exchanging the acquired ETH for BTC, and gradually transferring the Bitcoin to yuan through Asian exchanges.
These funds may be used to finance North Korea’s nuclear and missile programs.

The exchange’s CEO stated that hackers gained access to the cold wallet by altering transaction data. Bybit saw the correct address but ultimately confirmed a modification to the smart contract.
According to Bybit, the remaining wallets are secure.
