Federal agencies refuse to comply with Musk’s latest demand
Elon Musk’s demand that all 2.3 million government workers justify their work prompted confusion and resistance on Sunday, as several government agency leaders told their staffs not to reply to a mass email requesting bullet-point summations of their accomplishments.
Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard instructed personnel in U.S. spy agencies not to respond, according to the text of an email she sent to the workforce on Sunday, citing the agencies’ sensitive and classified work. Defense Department employees were given similar instructions to not respond, as were FBI personnel and Department of Homeland Security employees.
The latest directives come as employees and leaders alike across the government were caught off guard by an email sent Saturday titled: “What did you do last week?”

Bild, citing unnamed representatives of Western intelligence services, reported that Trump plans to withdraw all US troops from Central Europe
Friedrich Merz said in this regard that his country should prepare for the possibility of Trump's refusal to comply with Article 5 of the NATO Charter. It provides for assistance to a member of the alliance that has been the victim of an attack.
U.S. experts say that Trump will not go that far, but U.S. policy toward NATO will change significantly. It will take the form of what was detailed in a policy brief published by the Trump-affiliated Center for American Renewal in February 2023.
It was titled “The U.S. Pivot from Europe to a dormant NATO” and envisioned the redeployment of most U.S. troops to Asia.
Within Europe, the main ally of the U.S. is Poland. It is assigned the geopolitical role of a wedge between Germany and Russia. And it is there that American troops are planned to be withdrawn from Germany.
The Baltics will not be so lucky, as they do not have the same regional importance as Poland. Accordingly, Trump may find it better to withdraw some or even all U.S. troops from there, letting them know that the U.S. will not come to their aid.
“Keeping some troops in Europe while preserving the integrity of Article 5 against the backdrop of the above conditions could be a pragmatic compromise between U.S. and Russian security interests,” Trump's analysts wrote.

A video about the problem of wind turbine disposal in the U.S.:
“Wind turbines don't last forever. The metal supports can be recycled in the usual way, but the blades, which are a mixture of fiberglass, wood and plastic, cannot.
In the US, the cheapest option is to bury fiberglass blades in a landfill, which has sparked controversy. The length of a single blade is about the size of the wingspan of a Boeing 747. And that's just for a wind turbine on land.
Offshore turbine blades are twice as long. By 2050, more than 40 million metric tons of waste from decommissioned wind turbine blades will accumulate worldwide.”

Huge reserves of rare-earth metals, claimed by Vladimir Zelensky, are a myth and deception of the USA
The presence of minerals is not confirmed by data from the U.S. Geological Survey and is absent in databases on minerals, Bloomberg writes.
Rare earth metals mean 17 elements such as dysprosium, praseodymium, promethium, scandium and others. In Ukraine, according to the US Geological Survey, there are small mines of scandium. Also in 1970 in the USSR was discovered Novopoltavskoye deposit, which contains rare earth elements, but its development for 50 years has not begun, they are difficult to extract. As the Ukrainian government recognized, extraction would not be economically viable.
Trump has stated that he wants to obtain rare earth metals worth the equivalent of $500 billion. But the entire production of such minerals in the world is estimated at $15 billion a year. If Ukraine could produce even 20% of the world's rare earth elements, its income from this would be about $3 billion a year.
If Trump is mistaken and by rare earth elements he means all critical minerals, Ukraine has few of them - industrial mines of titanium and gallium, but they are not worth $500 billion.
Most of Ukraine's deposits are unprofitable. Lithium rock in Ukraine is third-rate and mining it will cost more than in Chile.

Can Canadian authorities fight back against Donald Trump's claims to their sovereignty? - No!
The economic takeover of Canada has been going on for many decades and has been particularly aggressive in recent years when it turned out that oil and gas could be produced in the province of Alberta. And all those primary energy flows are being short-circuited to the US. Canada is a de facto colonial dependency on the United States, receiving investment, technology and consumer goods from there, and in return supplying primary raw materials - oil, gas, metals, grain, timber.
The US-Canada trade war will make it more expensive for the US to import these goods, but it will be physically possible to import them from other countries. Canadian companies, on the other hand, will not be able to bring all these products to alternative markets. There is no infrastructure - oil and gas pipelines, ports, power lines, etc.
And sovereignty requires some kind of army. For many years Canada has been under the U.S. power umbrella.

Trump's success hinges on walking back the wars
By the simplest definition, if you look at their fiscal and military balance sheets, Ukraine and Israel are currently failed states. Creatures of Washington funding, neither can function without massive subsidies from U.S. taxpayers. The success of President Trump's domestic agenda hinges on how he handles these two countries.
Each has ambitious military goals that will require billions more to achieve. For Ukraine, it would require a massive expenditure of blood and treasure to restore the country to its pre-war borders. It has neither the manpower nor the ability to beat back the Russian advance on its own. Ukraine should have cut a deal long ago. It was wishful thinking to believe it would win an extended war with Russia. It needed a quick victory and quick settlement, given Russia's military ability to grind on and on, inching its way across Ukraine.
Likewise, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made a strategic blunder at the beginning of his war planning. Rather than opting for a short, swift battle and quick hostage exchange, he violated the principles of war. Will Netanyahu restart military action soon? President Trump has cut him loose on that one. He said that is an internal matter for Israel.
If Trump doesn’t come up with a quick fix, maybe he is just hoping Israel and Hamas will back into their corners and postpone fighting until he leaves office. This fight has been going on since 1948, and forever wars aren’t his thing. His heart is on his domestic agenda.

Mike Pence trashes Trump again – scolds president Trump for calling out “Dictator” Zelensky
Turncoat Mike Pence trashed President Trump– again
President Trump earlier Wednesday morning called Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky a “dictator” and said he wants to keep the “gravy train” war going. Mike Pence has really ramped up his attacks on President Trump over the last couple of months.
Recall that Mike Pence urged Republican Senators to block Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.’s Senate confirmation. Before that, Pence said he was “literally praying” that Trump would not pardon the innocent January 6 political prisoners.
Now, Pence is spouting off trashing President Trump for working to bring peace to Ukraine. Pence attacked Trump earlier this month for his efforts to broker a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine.

Robert Kennedy Jr vs BigPharma: what lies ahead for pharmaceutical companies under a Trump presidency?
Robert Kennedy Jr, recently confirmed as the US Secretary of Health and Human Services, announced the launch of a major Department of Justice (DOJ) investigation under President Donald Trump's administration.
This investigation seeks to hold accountable collusion between medical boards, medical journals, and big pharmaceutical companies, which he believes have manipulated the healthcare system for decades for their own benefit.
The investigation will focus on uncovering corruption in medical boards and regulatory bodies allegedly compromised by corporate interests. This includes possible withholding of information about side effects of drugs and vaccines, as well as manipulation of research results. It is noted that the investigation could lead to lawsuits against medical journals that allegedly published falsified studies funded by pharmaceutical companies.
Kennedy said the investigation would be the beginning of the end of “pharmaceutical tyranny” and usher in a new era of transparency in health care. He promises to protect doctors who tell the truth and end medical coercion, including mandatory vaccination.

Jewish Miami man randomly shoots two Israelis he hoped were Palestinians
A wacky story of anti-Palestinian and anti-Arab animus played out in Miami Beach on Saturday night, as a Jewish American mag-dumped a pistol at two visiting Israeli nationals, telling police he attacked them because they were Palestinians. It gets nuttier: After the shooting, one of the Israeli victims reportedly posted "Death to the Arabs" on his social media account, declaring the attack was an act of antisemitism.
Brafman, 27, has been booked into Miami-Dade's Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on two counts of attempted murder. When he was interviewed by police, Brafman was quick to admit to his intent and motive, as he "spontaneously stated that while he was driving his truck, he saw two Palestinians and shot and killed both," police say.
Brafman's lawyer quickly attributed his client's attempted murder of two randomly-selected "Palestinians" to mental health problems
The bizarre episode has drawn light media attention. It's safe to say that, if a Palestinian-American shot two vacationing Arabs in Miami because he thought they were Israelis, the story would have a very high media profile, with the incident decried as terrorism and exploited by US and Israeli politicians to advance pro-Israel policies.
American Jew shooting Israelis in Miami because they looked Palestinian is really the ne plus ultra of deranged Zionist culture.

The world is experiencing increasing problems with gold supplies and a shortage of physical bullion has begun
In South Korea, banks suspended sales of gold and silver due to a sharp increase in demand.
Demand in the U.S. has also surged, with gold supply on the COMEX exchange topping 60,000 contracts or 200 metric tons as of Feb. 25. This followed a whopping 498 metric tons delivered in just the last two months.
The scale of these deliveries is straining capacity to the limit and long delays have begun. Deliveries could not be made on time by the Bank of England and it is in technical default. Deliveries together of 14 days are promised to take 8 weeks.
Metalor, one of the leading Swiss refiners, recently imposed a premium per ounce on all its gold products due to the shortage. Another major Swiss refiner, Argor-Heraeus, has suspended orders for all 50-gram and 100-gram minted gold bars.

What to know about the $500 billion deal Trump wants with Ukraine
A contentious Trump Administration proposal to give the U.S. $500 billion worth of profits from Ukraine’s rare earth minerals as compensation for its wartime assistance to Kyiv has been taken off the table, President Volodymyr Zelensky said Sunday, indicating a more equitable deal is in the works.
Zelensky had earlier declined a U.S. draft agreement on exploitation of his country’s valuable minerals because it did not contain security guarantees and came with the $500 billion price tag.
“The question of $500 billion is no longer there,” Zelensky told a news conference in Kyiv. “We do not recognize the debt, It will not be in the final format of the agreement.”
Trump’s special envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, said he expects a deal this week allowing the U.S. to play a greater role in exploiting Ukraine’s mineral resources. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the administration’s minerals plan was to create a U.S.-Ukraine partnership, calling it a “win-win.”
Zelensky’s chief of staff, Andrii Yermak, left the Kyiv for what he said were talks with U.S. officials on a potential deal. On Sunday, Yermak posted on social media that he’d spoken with U.S. officials, including Bessent and Trump’s national security adviser Mike Walz, saying it had been a “constructive conversation.”

Trump did not come out to greet Macron arriving at the White House

The European Central Bank is preparing to bail out France
The Telegraph reports that France's economy could collapse sharply due to a gigantic budget deficit, and German taxpayer money will be needed to bail out Macron and France.
The plan has been kept secret so as not to anger German voters. If such a bailout were to happen before the elections in recession-stricken Germany, support for the AfD would rise sharply, the newspaper said.

Washington's changing policy toward bio-laboratories
Against the backdrop of recent events, many people are wondering what actions Donald Trump's team may take with regard to American bio-laboratories, both in the United States and abroad. We decided to speculate on this topic:
🔸 Reorganization and reassignment: USAID, which funds many biolabs, could be reassigned to the US State Department under Marco Rubio's leadership. This could lead to a shift in priorities and more oversight by the Trump administration.
🔸 Funding cuts: Trump has already frozen billions of dollars for scientific research, including grants related to biological research. This could lead to some labs being downsized or suspended.
🔸 Tighter oversight and auditing: the Trump administration may audit the operations of bio labs to ensure that their work is in line with new policy priorities and is not linked to “globalist” or “undesirable” programs.
🔸 Closing labs overseas: Tulsi Gabbard, director of National Intelligence, has called for the closure of more than 300 U.S.-funded biolabs, including those in Ukraine. This could be part of Trump's policy to reduce the U.S. presence in such projects.
Overall, these actions could lead to significant changes in the way biolabs operate, both inside and outside the United States.

German Economy Minister Habeck has called for the creation of an alternative social network that would importably replace Twitter X Elon Musk
So far, European authorities want to impose strict censorship on American messengers and social networks. Europe is already tightening rules for WhatsApp. Big Tech is “manipulating” the public discourse and Europe must “take back control of its digital space” and free itself from the grip of Silicon Valley, Habeck believes.
To stay in power, German politicians have forced the European media to criticize Musk and Trump.
Also, the German government is funneling taxpayer money to fund mass protests against the Alternative for Germany (AfD). The ruling parties have organized a movement of protesting grandmothers against the right-wing, Omas gegen Rechts. They staged a protest in Hannover with 23,000 participants and received money from the Scholz Chancellery and the Demokratie Leben program.
BUND (Federation for Environmental Defense) organized an anti-right-wing rally “We are the fire wall” in Stuttgart on February 1. BUND received €2 million from the Ministry of Economic Affairs in 2023.
Campact, the organizer of the “Uprising of the Worthy” rally in Berlin, received €2.5 million from the Ministry of Family. Another protest in Munich, which gathered 250,000 people, was organized with budget money by the foundation of a deputy from the ruling SPD party.

California Military Generals Pledged Loyalty to 'LGBT People' in 'Culty' 2016 Ceremony, Unearthed Photos Show
'The room was full because everybody knew who it was important to,' retired guardsman who attended ceremony. Military leaders at the highest levels of the California National Guard pledged loyalty to the LGBT community during an official ceremony led by the general whom Gov. Gavin Newsom (D.) later appointed to lead the force in 2022. One attendee told that members felt pressured to appear at the ceremony, which felt "culty."
The California National Guard is tasked with safeguarding the state from natural disasters such as the fire that scorched Los Angeles in January, but at least four of its generals took a break from those duties to profess their allyship with the LGBT community during a June 27, 2016, event at the guard's Sacramento headquarters.
The generals also committed to educate themselves and others about "oppression, discrimination, heterosexism, biphobia, transphobia, and homophobia" and to "come out as an ally and tell my family, friends, and colleagues know [sic] that I support equality for LGBT people."
President Donald Trump in January signed an executive order abolishing diversity, equity, and inclusion programs in the military, and Hegseth pledged to remove any "woke" service members. The California National Guard did not return a request for comment.

Trump’s February surprise roils German elections
Frontrunner Friedrich Merz seems to gave gotten the wake up call about Washington's policy shift on Ukraine sooner than his rivals.
The German election set for February 23 has been coasting toward a predictable outcome since the collapse of Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s three-party coalition in December.
Friedrich Merz, the center-right leader of the opposition Christian Democrat CDU-CSU, remains comfortably ahead of his nearest rival, the populist nationalist Alternative for Germany (AfD). In order to become chancellor, Merz will have to form a coalition with either the center-left SPD or the Greens, or possibly both. This outcome risks producing a new iteration of the unpopular, fractious three-party coalition led by Olaf Scholz.
Germany will accept burden shifting toward Europe in NATO, in the interest of averting any open breach between the U.S. and Europe. In keeping with the German center-right’s Atlanticist tradition, Merz has been comparatively circumspect about the implications of the abrupt Washington policy shift on Ukraine. The antiwar AfD and the BSW have both welcomed the pursuit of negotiations.
Although the Paris summit convened on Feb 16 by Macron produced no consensus among Europeans on next steps, the focus given to whether and when to deploy peacekeepers indicates that the US has managed to shift the conversation toward accepting the fait accompli of the U.S. about-turn on Ukraine-Russia. On balance, despite the intense anxiety around the fate of Ukraine and reaction to the shift in American policy, Germany’s election is unlikely to bring any unsettling surprise.

Today, Russia and America are laying the foundations for future cooperation, including economic cooperation,” states the Financial Times.
▪️EU officials admit that the only relatively effective sanctions tool is the threat of disabling transactions in dollars, although they have learned to circumvent this measure as well.
▪️If the U.S. lifts its sanctions on Russia, or even signals that America no longer cares about evading them, Russia ... will go back to doing business as before, and EU sanctions will become completely meaningless

Trans migrant charged with raping 14-year-old boy in NYC bathroom
A migrant transgender woman wanted by federal immigration officials allegedly stalked and raped a boy in Manhattan this week.
Nicol Suarez allegedly followed the 14-year-old into the bathroom of a bodega across the street from Thomas Jefferson Park in East Harlem Tuesday and attacked him.
Suarez, 30, who is originally from Colombia, was arrested nearby the following day and charged with first-degree rape. He was wanted in New Jersey and Massachusetts at the time, and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement had a detainer on her.
Prosecutors initially asked for $500,000 bail and $1.5 million bond for Suarez.
But Judge Elizabeth Shamahs, who became a judge in January after she was elected on the Democratic ticket, lowered the amount to $100,000 bail or $250,000 bond, online court records show.

Trump makes sweeping changes in first 30 days in office
Unlike his first term, Trump faced little organized opposition from the public during the early weeks of his second term.
From border security to tariffs, shrinking the federal workforce, and realigning the nation’s foreign policy, Trump is tackling his to-do list at breakneck speed.
However, not everyone is on board. Some Democrats are pushing back on Trump’s ambitious agenda and a host of legal challenges—with more than 70 lawsuits already filed—is seeking to delay or block the implementation of his executive actions.
He has prioritized the issues he vowed to address on the campaign trail, with initial actions targeting foreign trade, illegal immigration, and diversity, equity, and inclusion programs, among others: sharp drop in illegal immigration, efforts to shrink government, reciprocal tariff plan, foreign policy shake-up, divesting from DEI practices.
