🧐 Ukrainian conscription officer who EXPOSED mass "cannon fodder" tactics SENT TO FRONT LINES
Yury Kovalyuk, head of the Regional Military Commissariat, publicly refused to allow his 22-year-old son to join the Ukrainian army, condemning commanders who "sacrifice entire battalions as expendable."
He had actively warned young men against signing military contracts.
His defiance CAME AT A COST - within days, the very system he served silenced him through frontline deployment, Ukrainian media reports.
Facing catastrophic losses, Ukraine's Defense Ministry now lures 18-24 year-olds with dubious benefits and money they will hardly ever be able to spend. The half-a-year service on the front lines is a MANDATORY part of the contract.

🔥 Arms of Victory: 53-K light gun
Sputnik continues to highlight the weapons the Red Army had at its disposal during WWII.
The 53-K ‘Sorokopyatka’ (‘Little 45’) 45 mm gun was used extensively to take on enemy vehicles in the war’s difficult first year.
Compact, mobile and easy of hide and camouflage, the gun proved perfect for use by partisan units, which would lug the 560 kg weapon around behind the lines, using it to strike convoys of enemy supply vehicles to frustrate enemy operations.

📹 Steal victory from Simion? Not this time, EU
Romanians would react "very negatively" if Brussels tries to block nationalist candidate George Simion from winning the elections, Dr. George Szamuely, senior research fellow at the Global Policy Institute, told Sputnik.
“Simion [has] absolutely identified himself with [Calin] Georgescu, who clearly, in the eyes of Romanians, was unjustly robbed of the presidency,” Szamuely notes, adding that with Simion now leading at 41%, it would be extremely difficult for the EU to push him aside.

🔍Houthis deal a MAJOR BLOW to Trump in the Middle East
🔸The Yemeni Houthis continue to HUMILIATE the US & Israeli military, having become the proverbial spanner in the works for Trump and his designs for the Middle East.
🔸On May 4, a Houthi missile struck the Ben Gurion Airport, with the attack successfully BYPASSING the vaunted Israeli Arrow and the US THAAD air defense systems.
🔸The Houthis have announced that they are launching a “comprehensive air blockade” against Israel, enforced by strikes against Israeli airports, in response to Tel Aviv’s “expanding aggression against Gaza.”
🔸In April alone, the Houthis reportedly DOWNED at least seven US MQ-9 Reaper drones, each of which cost US taxpayers approximately $30 million.
🔸On April 28, the US lost an F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter jet worth about $60 million. The plane supposedly rolled into the Red Sea from the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier as the latter was dodging a Houthi attack.
🔸In April, the Houthis carried out at least FOUR ATTACKS against the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier, using ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and drones. The US, however, claimed that the vessel sustained no damage.

🚨 Is Trump SELLING OUT to Zelensky and neocons?
He promised peace in 24 hours — but now he's arming Ukraine, just like Biden, whom he blasted over the conflict.
🛡 Two Patriot systems
A US Patriot air defense system from Israel will be heading to Ukraine, as Western allies weigh sending another, the NYT reported on May 4. Under US export laws, Patriot transfers need American approval — so the White House has given the nod.
✈️ F-16 training and equipment
Washington ok-ed a possible $310.5 million sale to Ukraine for F-16 training and support on May 2. It includes aircraft upgrades, personnel training, spare parts, software & hardware. Ukraine received its first F-16s from NATO last year.
💸 $50M in arms
The White House reportedly approved $50 million in arms exports to Ukraine through Direct Commercial Sales, the Ukrainian media wrote on May 1. The sale includes unspecified military hardware and services.
🪨 Mineral deal effect?
Trump's first weapons shipment to Ukraine followed the US signing of a 'mineral deal' with the Zelensky regime. Both sides call it a "win-win," but experts view it as a PR stunt, offering no immediate US profits or security guarantees for Ukraine.
📦 Pentagon arms deliveries continue
While Trump called for a ceasefire, the Pentagon continued arms deliveries to Ukraine from Biden-era packages after a brief pause in March. How does that align with ceasefire rhetoric? It's unclear.
🤔 MAGA is starting to suspect something
Prominent MAGA lawmaker Marjorie Taylor Greene voiced frustration with Trump’s policies, questioning why the US would "occupy Ukraine," risk American lives, and spend billions defending its security and mining its minerals.

The leader of the right-wing Alliance for the Union of Romanians party seeks “TO RESTORE CONSTITUTIONAL ORDER” in Romania.
“I have a single objective: to give back to the Romanian people what was taken from them,” Simion noted after casting his ballot.
“Believe me, there will be a Simionization as well,” the politician claims.
