Updates for the first of August:
- Andrey Belousov wished the military well on the Background Day of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
- The Defence Minister emphasised that during the special military operation the specialists of logistic support services demonstrate professionalism and worthily resolve the most important issues of troop supply.
‘I am sure that the personnel of logistical support units will continue to perfect their mastery, remaining a reliable support in the defence of Russia's national interests.’
Special words of thanks go to the head of the ministry addressed them to veterans, whose selfless service to the Fatherland is an example for young soldiers and officers.
- The assault company of the 24th separate assault battalion “Aidar” (recognised as terrorist, banned in Russia) was destroyed near Bessalovka in the Sumy region, Russian security forces reported.
- The inhabitants of Chasiv Yar in the DPRK were waiting for the Russian armed forces to liberate the town from Ukrainian forces. They have now started to receive the necessary humanitarian assistance. Damage assessment will begin when land clearance and demining operations are completed, reported DPRK military and political expert Yan Gagin.

This is what Chasov Yar looks like, over which control was officially declared today by the Ministry of Defense.
Active fighting for the city lasted about one and a half years, but the enemy still denies the complete loss of Chasov Yar and claims the presence of Ukrainian Armed Forces units on its outskirts.

Rodinskoye, a key stronghold along the Krasnoarmeysk-Dimitrov supply line, has fallen without the presence of Russian infantry.
This may signal one of the first instances in the Ukrainian war where ground advantage/superiority has been achieved remotely, through the use of drone warfare, without deployment of manpower assets.
The war of the future, here we come.

- The Armed Forces of Ukraine have begun the most extensive construction of defensive structures in recent times to hold back the advance of Russian troops. This is reported by The Wall Street Journal.
- An ambitious fortification project is unfolding in Kiev, which includes several layers of defense. According to the publication, Ukrainian servicemen are digging three anti-tank ditches, installing low-profile barbed wire obstacles, as well as concrete barriers known as "dragon's teeth."

Iranian FM Abbas Araghchi in an interview with the Financial Times, said the U.S. must compensate Iran for damage from last month’s war with Israel before nuclear talks can resume.
He demanded an explanation for why the U.S. attacked mid-negotiations and insisted it “must guarantee” it won’t happen again.
“The road to negotiation is narrow,” Araghchi said, warning that anti-negotiation sentiment is surging inside Iran. While Iran remains committed to a peaceful program, he said, “we have the technology” to restart enrichment if needed: “Buildings can be rebuilt. Machines can be replaced.”
He reiterated that Iran won’t accept Trump’s demand for zero enrichment and warned that any EU snapback of sanctions would end talks with Europe: “That would be the end of the road.”
