🔘 CEO Of

What does being the CEO of something mean?

◻️The best at

Being the CEO of something means you are the very best (or at least incredibly exceptional) at doing that thing. For example, Batman is the CEO of detectives, Al Roker is the CEO of TV meteorology, and Kim Kardashian is the CEO of being famous for no reason.
TikTok users, especially, like to say that other users are the CEO of something - whether it be twerking, waffles, giving high fives, or the year 1957. CEO, of course, still means chief executive officer, but in this context, there is no actual company involved - just a GOAT social media champion, showing off their sick skills.

Example
Can you believe Serena Williams won again? That woman's the CEO of female tennis

🔘 Gate Lice

What does gate lice mean?

◻️People congregating around an airport gate

Lice makes everyone's skin crawl, and "gate lice" does the same for seasoned airplane travelers. Gate lice refers to passengers who get up and stand around a gate waiting to board the airplane instead of waiting for the gate attendant to announce their seating zone.

Veteran flyers get annoyed by gate lice because they congest the entrance for other passengers, possibly causing confusion and leading to longer wait times. For example, people waiting for their seat might be unable to hear their zone called or see a sign displaying the zone because of all the gate lice in their way.

Example
Aren't you seated in zone 2? They called it 5 minutes ago
I didn't even know my zone was called with all the gate lice noise

🔘 DM Slide

What is a DM slide?

◻️Direct message to a crush

A DM slide is a direct message (DM) sent to a crush on a social platform, such as Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram. The DM is a sly way to privately message a person instead of via a user's public profile.
Since DMs are private messages (PM), people often use the DM feature to communicate with others about a sensitive matter. In the case of most DM slides, they are messages where users shoot their shots.

Typically, people who just met are the ones to perform a DM slide. However, people who are friends with someone but are also too nervous to ask their friend out may do a DM slide.

As a heads up, you cannot slide into a user's DMs without being mutuals with them (following each other). Also, if the recipient does not reciprocate your feelings, they may label you as a creeper.

Example
I can't believe Lawrence's DM slide was successful. He got a date this Saturday

🔘 Clapped

What does clapped mean as an insult?

◻️Beaten

To get clapped means to get hit, beaten, or otherwise wrecked. This slang term derives from a lesser-known definition of clap - which can mean to slap someone.
People also use clapped to call someone or something ugly. (e.g. "Rob's looking clapped today.") In this case, the implication is the clapped thing looks as though it has been repeatedly slapped or punched. This use of clapped can be extended to "clapped out," a phrase used to describe especially beat-up looking cars and machinery.

Example
Ooh, he just got clapped!

🔘 Locked In

What does it mean when someone is locked in?

◻️Doing well

When someone is doing something so well, they are "locked in," meaning all other distractions fall away because they are incredibly focused on the task at hand. For example, if a person's fit perfectly complements their make-up, making them look amazing, they are "locked in."
You will see or hear people use "locked in" in person and online (including on social media). Some areas where people may be locked in include sports, fashion, and work.
For example, a basketball commentator may exclaim, "Brown is locked in tonight, draining his 5th three-pointer of the night!" Or, a Zendaya fan may ask, "Have you seen Dune 2 yet? My girl Zen was locked in!" And a more mundane example is "Luke just crushed his work presentation. He's locked in!"
