🔘 Locked In

What does it mean when someone is locked in?

◻️Doing well

When someone is doing something so well, they are "locked in," meaning all other distractions fall away because they are incredibly focused on the task at hand. For example, if a person's fit perfectly complements their make-up, making them look amazing, they are "locked in."
You will see or hear people use "locked in" in person and online (including on social media). Some areas where people may be locked in include sports, fashion, and work.
For example, a basketball commentator may exclaim, "Brown is locked in tonight, draining his 5th three-pointer of the night!" Or, a Zendaya fan may ask, "Have you seen Dune 2 yet? My girl Zen was locked in!" And a more mundane example is "Luke just crushed his work presentation. He's locked in!"

Example
Jessica's dress is fire
Bet. She's locked in

🔘 Airdrop

What is a cryptocurrency airdrop?

◻️A cryptocurrency marketing event

A cryptocurrency airdrop is a giveaway of free crypto coins. Airdrops are often part of marketing events, in which users receive coins in exchange for promoting a new or up-and-coming cryptocurrency. The coins are sent directly to a user's cryptocurrency wallet, provided the user completes the airdrop's conditions.

Are cryptocurrency airdrops scams?

No and yes. No, in that many airdrops are legitimate promotions, and yes, in that some airdrops are pump-and-dump schemes in which the cryptocurrency's owners are attempting to inflate their coins' value before selling them. Other malicious airdrops ask users to provide their crypto wallet's private key, which gives access to the users' other cryptocurrency. So, before you engage in a crypto airdrop, make sure you do your DD.

Example
I'm so glad I hopped on that Dogecoin airdrop years ago. Now I just have to figure out when to sell

Before you get too critical of teens, remember that they are challenging years. After all, weren't we all like that at some point in our teenage years?

🔘 Hop Off

What does hop off mean?

◻️Go away

It may be used in a variety of situations, like when your partner is being too critical of you or your parent is telling you how to live your life. It is a good alternative to lashing out and regretting saying something really hurtful.

🔘 CEO Of

What does being the CEO of something mean?

◻️The best at

Being the CEO of something means you are the very best (or at least incredibly exceptional) at doing that thing. For example, Batman is the CEO of detectives, Al Roker is the CEO of TV meteorology, and Kim Kardashian is the CEO of being famous for no reason.
TikTok users, especially, like to say that other users are the CEO of something - whether it be twerking, waffles, giving high fives, or the year 1957. CEO, of course, still means chief executive officer, but in this context, there is no actual company involved - just a GOAT social media champion, showing off their sick skills.

🔘 NFT

What is an NFT?

◻️Non-fungible token

A non-fungible token, often referred to as an "NFT," is a unique digital asset that is part of a blockchain, usually the open-source Ethereum. It is primarily used to verify ownership of digital artwork sold and collected online.
NFTs increased in usage in 2020, partially because the Covid-19 pandemic limited the exchange of actual artwork. They are a form of currency on a blockchain, which is a type of database linked together like a chain using cryptography.
Blockchains provide helpful information about transactions that cannot be modified. They are also transparent, allowing users to view the transactions and recognize ownership of assets.
An NFT, which is part of a blockchain, functions similarly to a receipt that provides proof of a digital asset's purchase and ownership. Anything digital can be sold and collected as an NFT, but an NFT is primarily an image or video artwork.

Example
I just paid $15 for an NFT
Oh yeah, what did you get?
Katie's tweet about sandwiches
SMH, you're such a simp.

🔘 Wonky

What does wonky mean?

◻️Weird

When something seems strange or out of character, it is "wonky." For example, when you push down your car's accelerator and the car makes a clunking sound, you might tell your mechanic that it's acting wonky (and they will then roll their eyes).
It is unclear where wonky comes from, but some scholars say it dates back to the "wankul" word in Proto-West Germanic, which means "shaky or unstable." Over the years, the word has evolved into the non-technical "wonky" term, which people use when describing something off-kilter or behaving strangely.
Examples of things that may be wonky include a picture frame on a wall, any machinery, flooring, and bizarre food. Additionally, people acting odd may be wonky, like your uncle Bruno or that pirate Captain Jack Sparrow.

Example
The school cafeteria lunch looked a little wonky today, so I didn't eat it

🔘 F4F

What does F4F mean on social media?

◻️Follow for follow

F4F means "follow for follow." It is used on Twitter, TikTok, and Instagram to tell other users that, if they follow you, you'll follow them back - ensuring that both your follower counts grow.
Because social media platforms boost posts made by people with large numbers of followers, many users attempt to gain followers however they can. F4Fing is a relatively mild and organic way of attempting to gain followers, as opposed to spamming hashtags in your posts or utilizing algorithms and bots to gain followers automagically.
If you want to let people know you'll follow them if they follow you, be sure to add the #F4F hashtag to your Twitter, TikTok, or Insta posts. If you want to look for users who will follow you if you follow them, you can search for others' use of the #F4F hashtag.
