Brazil floods: BBC News Review

Heavy rains in the southern Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul have left hundreds of towns under water. At least 85 people have died in the floods and about 150,000 have had to leave their homes. More than 130 people are still missing. More heavy rain is expected in the region this week.

Your DNA can influence how long you live, but it’s still worth leading a healthy life, according to new research. In the first study of its kind, scientists explored whether the negative impact of genetics on life expectancy could be reduced by a healthy lifestyle. Habits to extend life include regular exercise, a healthy diet, no smoking and getting enough sleep.
