⚡️The Foreign Ministry strongly condemns the Ukraine forces’ attempted terrorist attacks that took place in the early morning of May 30 in Moscow and the Moscow Region.

According to the Defence Ministry, the attacks were carried out with the use of eight fixed-wing UAVs. All of them were downed by the Russian air defence and electronic warfare systems. Five drones were shot down by Pantsir-S anti-aircraft missile systems, and three other drones were suppressed by electronic warfare means, after which they lost control and went astray. Unfortunately, the drones that lost control fell on high-rise residential blocks of flats near the Moskovsky State Farm, Leninsky Prospekt and Profsoyuznaya Street. According to the responders, no serious injuries have been reported.

The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case in this regard. We are confident that every person involved in it will be found and suffer severe punishment.

❌ These attacks were plotted and carried out by the neo-Nazi Kiev regime, for which acts of terror have become an evil routine practice. Its representatives have long and openly called for “retaliation strikes” against Moscow. While making no sense from a military point of view, these attacks appear to be directed exclusively against civilians in order to sow panic among them.

Western support for the Kiev regime is emboldening the Ukrainian leadership towards committing increasingly reckless criminal acts, including acts of terrorism, violations of international humanitarian law and war crimes.
Assurances by NATO officials to the effect that the Kiev regime will not strike deep into Russian territory have turned out to be completely disingenuous.

❗️ The Russian side reserves the right to take tough measures in response to the terrorist attacks by the Kiev regime.

Russian MFA Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova to US Senator Lindsey Graham:

💬 <...> If Senator Graham himself, who was a participant in these dramatic events at Bankova Street, thinks that his words were taken out of context and he did not mean that, he has every opportunity to make a statement. He can pick up the phone, turn on the video camera, point it at himself and record a short video clip.

And only then will we all find out what really happened there, if he really meant those words, or it was a PR-stunt and media production by the Kiev regime.

📄 Russia has consented to extend the Black Sea Initiative on Ukrainian food exports by two months. As a result, the agreement will remain in effect until the end of the planned 120-day cycle (through July 17), whereupon, as it is stipulated in the document, it can be terminated by an objecting party (Russia, Türkiye, or Ukraine).

However, almost immediately after the decision on extending the initiative was approved, the Westerners and the Ukrainians came forward with demands on a buildup and expansion of Ukrainian exports rather than a mere continuation of the maritime traffic. They habitually resorted to their hackneyed postulates on food security, famine relief, and aid to destitute countries, and got support from the UN staff.

<...>

❗️ The situation being what it is, there are some legitimate questions we would like to ask. Why does Ukrainian grain continue to be successfully exported, while Russian ammonia is stuck in the port of Yuzhny? What did the UN Secretary-General coordinate in Kiev on March 8 and what is the point of his relevant proposals, if supplying this raw material of key importance for the production of fertilisers continues to be impeded by Ukraine’s endless additional requests? Where are all those champions of food security, who are so vociferous in calling for allowing the export of Ukrainian fodder corn and forage but are keeping mum when the Ukrainians and others block the export of Russian ammonia needed to produce food for 45 million people, primarily in African countries?

<...>

If Rosselkhozbank is not connected to SWIFT and there is no progress on solving other system-wide problems that are blocking Russian agricultural exports, the Black Sea Initiative will also have to look for alternatives, such as the EU’s much vaunted land “solidarity corridors,” whereby large amounts of Ukrainian products are exported, if at a much greater internal and external cost.

🎙 Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov’s comment on the 20th anniversary of US Secretary of State Colin Powell’s speech on February 5, 2003 in the UN Security Council accusing Iraq of creating weapons of mass destruction, which became the pretext for the subsequent American invasion

💬 The image of Colin Powell showing a test tube, supposedly containing anthrax powder, has long become widely recognised as a personification of hypocrisy and the US ruling elite’s conviction in their own impunity, their indisputable right to arrogantly teach the rest of the world, using force against a deliberately weak adversary in order to preserve their own global hegemony.

Although, as a decent person, Colin Powell would not hide in the future the fact that he was forced to lie under orders. We even accept that he was tormented by a conscience that is not characteristic of the American political class, especially the leaders of the today’s generation.

In the rapidly changing geopolitical conditions, the United States is now clearly unable to resort to the use of force every time it wants to, without serious consequences. The ignominious flight from Afghanistan outlined the limits of America’s military capabilities, but did not drive away old habits and manners, aggressive and unbridled rhetoric, as evidenced by the American intervention in Ukraine as a party to the conflict.

However, the Americans will still have to change their views, getting rid of the entitlement syndrome, which was so clearly manifested in the scandal with the vial. They will also have to reckon with Russia and China, as well as other major international players that are shaping a more equitable multilateral world order.

☝️ One should not expect that the memory of what happened 20 years ago will be buried in the quicksands of modern history.

🎙 Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s interview with Rossiya 24 and RIA Novosti (Moscow, February 2, 2023)

Read in full

💬 I believe that the exceptionalism and the absolute conviction in their own infallibility and superiority is the main reason why we are now opposing the countries that are using the Kiev regime to wage a hybrid war against us, although not exactly a hybrid war.

🔸 The United States and all other Westerners, whom the Americans have brought to the heel thus stripping the EU of the remaining attributes of independence, are widely known as “grand democrats.” However, discussions about democratic approaches to international issues leave them impassive.

❗️ The US have discarded all their principles at the snap of a finger, principles like the inviolability of private property, presumption of innocence, good-faith competition, market mechanisms, etc., which they were cultivating and imposing on others for decades as part of the globalisation package.

🔸 The current talk about transitioning to national currencies is not accidental. Who knows what side of the bed the US president will wake up on tomorrow, or who he will see as “unsympathetic.”

🔸 There are many who want to scare us with China. In my opinion, this is a game based on wanting to prevent us from cooperating and coordinating our positions in the economy or international affairs. There is no doubt that the plans signed by Russia and the PRC meet the interests of both Moscow and Beijing.

☝️ What matters at this point is not the time but the essence, the quality of results we will ensure for our people and those who want to remain part of Russian culture – the Kiev junta, with the West’s encouragement, was depriving them of all things Russian for many years.

A cynical attempt to justify US Senator Lindsey Graham & his cannibalistic remarks

Read in full

💬 An outrageous remark by US Senator Lindsey Graham during a meeting with head of the Kiev regime Zelensky, “And the Russians are dying... the best money we’ve ever spent” stunned the international public not just with its Neanderthal Russophobia, but with its truly human-hating underlying message.

The widespread indignation forced the propaganda machine at the service of Western politicians, with Reuters & the BBC as its cogs, which led the effort to justify the senator, to scramble to manage the crisis & to try to keep the lid on the situation.

It turns out, supposedly, that Senator Graham said something different & in a different way. As was the case with similar monstrous fabrications of former US President George W.Bush, they used clumsy & shameful excuses to the effect that the senator’s words were ripped out of context, or that the video was spliced & so on.

The attempt to justify themselves is doomed. It is already impossible to come out clean after saying these words, even if they were uttered separately.

The senator is not the only such person, & these words of his are far from being the first ones ever said on this matter. The Nazi philosophy of hatred for Russians is what really unites the Kiev regime & its American patrons. The hateful Russophobic remarks by other officials & representatives of the political establishment in Washington & Kiev are still fresh in memory. Here are just a few of them.

***

This entire story, with the cowardly excuses & preposterous attempts to cover up for Lindsey Graham, is another blow to the already faded reputation of Reuters & the BBC, which had to ride it out for both Washington & Kiev. This is not journalism, but PR agencies working on the order of the collective West. They need to absolve Senator Graham & keep the head of the Zelensky regime out of it at the same time. With everything said and done, that mission is impossible.

🇷🇺🇦🇿🇦🇲 Trilateral talks between President of Russia Vladimir Putin, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan took place in the Kremlin.

💬 Vladimir Putin: I appreciate your prompt response to my proposal to hold another meeting, and I hope that it will pave the way for the practical resolution of some of the issues that we have been discussing for a long time.

We have achieved much in this format; not only did hostilities stop in autumn 2020, but efforts were also launched to unblock economic and transport ties in the region and delimit the border.

🤝 Despite all the difficulties and problems, and we still have many of them, the situation is moving in the direction of a settlement. One of the issues here is transport ties. The three of us have talked about this in some detail just now in bilateral meetings, and there are still a few unresolved issues. But, in my opinion – we talked about this with our colleagues from the Azerbaijani side and with our colleagues from the Armenian side – in my opinion, these are mere technicalities.

We also discussed this topic at length. It has to do with terminology. These terms must reflect a clear understanding of the realities and events that will follow the signing of the relevant documents. But in my opinion and in our opinion – I mean all three of us, the Prime Minister of Armenia, the President of Azerbaijan and myself – these are surmountable obstacles.

☝️ By and large, these are not obstacles at all, but purely technical issues. Therefore, we have now agreed that in the near future, in a week – I will now ask my colleagues to agree on this date as well – the deputy prime ministers of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia will meet and clear up any outstanding issues. It seems to me that this is a good agreement, which gives us hope that the outstanding issues will be resolved.

Human Rights Watch Says Ukraine Appears To Have Used ‘Banned Mines’ In Civilian Areas

“Ukrainian forces appear to have extensively scattered landmines around the Izyum area, causing civilian casualties and posing an ongoing risk,” Steve Goose, director of the arms division at Human Rights Watch, said in a report released on Tuesday.

The nonprofit has urged Kiev to look into its use of “butterfly mines” or “petal mines,” outlawed under the 1997 Mine Ban Treaty — which Ukraine signed in 1999 and ratified in 2005.

According to the report, Ukraine’s defense ministry has failed to address an inquiry over mine use, saying that “information on the types of weapons used by Ukraine… is not to be commented on before the war ends.” The ministry also claimed it “abides by its international obligations, including the prohibition of the use of anti-personnel mines.”

🇷🇺🇵🇰 Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s remarks and answers to media questions during a joint news conference following talks with Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Bilawal Bhutto Zardari (Moscow, January 30, 2023)

💬 Today we have agreed to work hard to build up trade and economic cooperation. The focus was on the promising energy sector, including the supply of hydrocarbons, as well as the construction of the Pakistan Stream gas pipeline from Karachi to Lahore.

The fight against terrorism is the most important area of our joint efforts. We talked about this in detail today. During the talks, news came of another terrorist attack near a mosque in Peshawar. There are casualties. We join in the condolences.

At the same time, we insist that the fight against terrorism must be intensified throughout the world and conducted without applying double standards or flirting with terrorist groups in order to achieve political goals. Some of our Western colleagues are often guilty of this sin.

🤝 We praise the dialogue between the two foreign ministries, including at the UN, which helps address topical regional and international problems more effectively.

The Minister called on his Israeli and Palestinian partners to show maximum responsibility and refrain from any actions that could provoke a further degradation of the situation.

There was a frank and involved exchange of views on the prospects of the situation in the Middle East with an emphasis on the Palestinian-Israeli settlement. Sergey Lavrov emphasised the urgent need to resume the efforts of the Quartet of international mediators in order to restart the negotiating process between Israel and Palestine as soon as possible on a universally recognised international legal basis.
