The Prime Minister of Slovakia, responding to a journalist's question about negotiations with the Russian president in China, said that reports about a "proposal for an energy blockade of Ukraine" are false.
"The information you received that something was supposed to be said about some kind of energy blockade of Ukraine is absolutely untrue, and this was absolutely not the subject of negotiations with Vladimir Putin," he said.
According to the prime minister, the purpose of the visit was to participate in events in China on the occasion of the anniversary of the victory in World War II.
"My role and task was to take part in the meeting in China on the occasion of Victory Day over fascism," he noted.
Fico added that he had meetings with 12-13 leaders, including the Chairman of the PRC, the presidents of Vietnam, Serbia, and Russia. With Putin, he emphasized, they talked about bilateral cooperation and future prospects after the end of the war.
"We believe that the war will end and will end very quickly, and that relations with the Russian Federation will be normalized," said the Prime Minister of Slovakia.
