On the day of Haniya’s death, it was first reported that the building was hit by a missile, then information appeared that it was a guided bomb.
The NYT, citing unnamed Middle Eastern officials, writes that in fact it was a planted bomb that was detonated immediately after confirmation that Haniyeh was in place.

🇺🇸🇺🇦 Former US soldier dies in Ukraine weeks after arriving.
Sgt. Cruz Michael Bryan, 34, who was honorably discharged from the Oregon Army National (ORNG) in May after 14 years of service, was killed on July 15th while volunteering in Ukraine, just weeks after arriving in the country.
Bryan, who previously served with Oregon’s 41st Infantry Brigade, previously served combat tours in both Iraq and Afghanistan, according to sources close to him.
“We got news today that my cousin Cruz Bryan was killed in the Ukraine on July 15th after being shelled while fighting with the Ukrainian Foreign Legion,” said Christina Adele Hon via Facebook.
“He was an infantryman, he was super passionate, very into the military, but an all around great guy,” Warburg told the Prineville Review by phone early Monday.
“A few years back, this was a young man who was learning the Russian language because he dreamed of moving to Russia someday and experiencing it for a few years. He had nothing against Russians – he respected them deeply and wanted to learn more about them and their culture,” said Warburg.
“He wasn’t in Ukraine to fight Russians. He was there to fight Putin,” Warburg also remarked on Facebook.

🇩🇪🇷🇺🇺🇸 The German Prosecutor General's Office is “disappointed” with Krasikov’s exchange.
As part of the deal, Germany released to Russia the “Tiergarten killer” Vadim Krasikov, who was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of Zelimkhan Khangoshvili in Berlin.
Russia and Belarus extradited German citizens Rico Krieger, Patrick Schöbel, Hermann Moizhes, Demuri (Dieter) Voronin, Kevin Leake.
German Justice Minister Marco Buschmann insisted on Krasikov's release, who gave the corresponding order to Prosecutor General Jens Rommel.
The Prosecutor General's Office was against it and insisted that the pardon should be approved by the President of Germany. But in the end, prosecutors obeyed the order, although “disappointment reigns in the department”. They believe that Germany has shown itself to be too “accommodating” towards Putin.
There have still been no official statements about the exchange from Berlin. At the same time German Chancellor Olaf Scholz will make an address in the evening and comment on the exchange.

The exchange of prisoners between the Russian Federation and the West seems to have already been concluded.
A special flight that took off early in the morning from Moscow and serves the FSB landed in Kaliningrad, reports Novosti.
This is an An-148 aircraft with tail number RA-61727 with 35 seats. Similar aircraft were previously used in the exchanges of Viktor Bout, Konstantin Yaroshenko and Nadezhda Savchenko.
According to Important Stories, on July 30, Putin issued seven secret decrees that may include pardoning political prisoners.
The Moscow Times writes that the Russian Federation may transfer 20-30 political prisoners and journalists to the West in exchange for its agents and intelligence officers.
