1. Zeros out all credit card, mortgage, and other bank

💸 Losses and financial warnings at German and Dutch central banks 💰🚨

The current reports of large losses at the German and Dutch central banks for 2023 have caused a stir. With billions in losses and further financial challenges, they are faced with the forecast that dividend payments to government coffers are unlikely in the coming years.

The European Central Bank and its subsidiaries are struggling with significant losses, using up reserves and parts of their equity, due to increased interest rates and massive interest payments to commercial banks.

The Bundesbank recorded a loss of 21.6 billion euros in 2023, which ate up almost all of its provisions. The Dutch central bank also lost 3.5 billion euros. The ongoing financial burdens are expected to continue, which will lead to a restriction on profit distributions.

The ECB's years of economic stimulus programs and the printing of trillions of euros have led to this economic situation. Although losses do not affect the functionality of a central bank, they can increase the distribution of dividends to states and criticism of financial policy.

Morgan Stanley's estimates point to rising losses in the Eurosystem. Losses are expected to reach 56.6 billion euros in 2023 and 62.2 billion euros in 2024.

Grand Rising Fam!

As I lay there, listening to the storm rage outside, my thoughts drifted to an ancient tale—the story of the Great Flood. You know, the one from the Bible? It got me thinking about its symbolism and how it might relate to our world today.

In particular, I couldn't shake the idea of a "Great Flood of Liquidity" in the financial world. With central banks facing liquidity shortages, impending regulatory changes like Basel III, and talks of countries shifting away from the US dollar, it feels like we're in the midst of a significant financial upheaval.

It's a bit daunting, isn't it? But I also see it as an opportunity for reflection and adaptation. Maybe this is a nudge for us to rethink how we approach banking and finance, to be more resilient and forward-thinking in the face of uncertainty.

So, as we start this new day, let's keep the lessons of the Great Flood in mind. Let's embrace change, learn from it, and work towards building a financial system that's not only strong but also fair and sustainable for everyone.
