At the end of the first half Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala made a crashing run toward Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma for a loose ball and came out worse for the wear.Maybe much worse. In the collision, it seemed as if the hulking goalkeeper’s dive at Musiala’s leg had the potential to create serious damage. We do not know much as of yet, but it appears that could be exactly what happened. Serge Gnabry has come on for Musiala. As for the match, Bayern Munich was the stronger side in the first half, but was inefficient in the final third. Sometimes it was poor decision-making and other times, it was a problem with execution. One thing is certain, without Musiala, it will not get any easier against a powerful and dangerous PSG side.

Jersey Swap: Ewa PajorA familiar foe for Bayern Munich fans, the former VfL Wolfsburg sensation and current FC Barcelona star showed up to play. Pajor did not have the chance to do much, but whenever she saw an opening, she gave the Germany defense fits. In the end, she was unlucky not to score at least once. Pajor is the kind of player who looks poised at any moment to take over and completely change a game, even if it is out of nowhere — as she nearly did in the 81st minute with a towering header (keep in mind that she is all of 5’6) between two German defenders. Der Kaiser: Ann-Katrin BergerThe shot-stopper for the NWSL’s Gotham FC showed up big when her team needed to. Poland only had two recorded shots on target — but it felt like more than that. Berger’s point-blank save on Pajor’s header that threatened to bring life to the waning moments of the game was superb, and the Germans should have real confidence knowing a keeper of her quality is in between the sticks.Fußballgott: Sjoeke NüskenGermany’s pivots shared the play-making load with their fullbacks and wingers, neither getting close to recording the passes and touches of the two center-backs. However, they picked their moments to shine. Chelsea FC’s Nüsken showed off her prowess both going forward and tracking back. It was her recovery run and tackle on Pajor late that spared yet another Polish threat of late drama, and her narrowly missed open header in the 61st minute — which she really should have buried — belied what was a savvy run to ghost by defenders in the box and latch on to Klara Bühl’s cross. Bayern Munich expanded its traveling roster for the Club World Cup to include school-aged youngsters David Santos, Lennart Karl, and Cassiano Kiala.For those boys, school has not been out for summer. FCBayern.com put together the details on how the young players are managing their schooling while playing world class competition: The ball is at rest on Tuesday at FC Bayern’s team headquarters in Orlando. While the Florida sun blazes outside and the next Club World Cup match ( Saturday: PSG! ) draws closer in the stadium, inside the club is calculating, translating, and revising. Three of the record champions’ youth players sit concentrated in the meeting room – in front of them, not a tactical plan, but school materials. Their task: not only to survive an international tournament and gain experience with the professionals, but also to learn math, English, and sports theory. Except for match days, the three have lessons every day – including in Florida. For the kids, it has been a good experience. “It’s sometimes an exceptional situation,” says Santos. “I’ve gotten used to the double burden, but it takes discipline.” FCBayern.com also provided a description of what the classroom environment looks like:The room where the young players meet daily with teacher Fabian Cichlar is normally reserved for team meetings. Now it serves as a classroom. Cichlar knows the players well – at the FC Bayern Campus, he also supports the boarding school residents with their schoolwork as part of a team, providing feedback and answering questions. The initiative often comes from the players themselves. “I simply say what I need,” explains Santos, “and then I get great help.” Karl is currently studying for his secondary school (high school) diploma, which he plans to graduate next year. “We do homework here every day,” Karl said. “You can’t lie to yourself, that doesn’t help you in school.”The education experience has clearly been on — and off — the pitch for Karl during the Club World Cup. “It’s really cool in the stadiums. This year, however, Tah’s status as a free agent meant the 2025 Bundesliga Vizemeister could do little to prevent his move to the Bundesliga winners.There, his head coach will be Vincent Kompany. Born in Hamburg and raised in Hamburger SV’s youth academy, Tah naturally watched Kompany as the Belgian underwent his journey from Hamburg to the top of world football. Now, under his fellow Hamburger, he is hoping Kompany can help him continue to get better: “Of course, I followed him [as a player]—I’m from Hamburg,” Tah said on Kompany in his introductory press conference, as captured by @iMiaSanMia. “He was a great leader and player. From the very beginning, I realized in our conversations that he could give me a lot and help me grow and improve. The impression so far has been great, and I’m looking forward to spending time with him.”Incidentally, Tah and Kompany will get the chance to face their former club, given the iconic German club’s return to the Bundesliga after a sever -year wait. As far as injuries go, the season has not even started and Bayern Munich have already bagged their first injury. It is known that the injury gods enjoy incapacitating the Bayern defense.Yet again, the defense has been struck as Josip Stanišić was injured in the quarterfinal fixture of the Club World Cup against Paris Saint-Germain. He started in left-back and had a modest performance until injury struck. At the 19th minute, he clutched his thigh from an injury and further, received treatment to his hamstring on the pitch. He managed to get back in play in a few minutes, but yet again, at the 33rd minute he announced he would not be able to carry on. Bayern Munich is en route to potentially their second trophy this season, depending on the game against PSG goes. The club stands to win a lot of money if they qualify for the next round and beat the Champions League winners, but it has been revealed that they have already earned quite a bit. According to a report from @iMiaSanMia, Bayern Munich has already earned themselves approximately €46.5 million from just reaching to the current stage. Beating Flamengo in the Round of 16 meant that they won a significant amount of money, but the same report tells us that beating PSG gives the club an opportunity to earn another €17.88 million. Now, that is quite a lot of money for just reaching the quarter finals of the tournament, but fans will want to see this money spent wisely. Many are already calling it ‘Woltemade money’ and even ‘Leão money’, but whether those transfers will even make it through is another question. After several calls between both clubs, it was agreed that as long as Bayern are in the USA for the Club World Cup, there will be no written offer. The atmosphere between FCB and VfB has improved following the phone call between Max Eberl and his counterpart at VfB, Fabian Wohlgemuth. Jan-Christian Dreesen also maintains contact with VfB CEO Alexander Wehrle. No figures have been mentioned in the talks so far. Stuttgart now wants to reach an internal agreement regarding the fee they will demand, while Bayern first want to play the Club World Cup. However, Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg provided his intel on the topic, which contradicts the Sport Bild info: Bayern and Stuttgart are still in talks regarding Nick #Woltemade.
