Previews - UEFA Women’s EURO 2025 Photo by Daniela Porcelli/Getty Images Are you ready? It’s the 2025 edition of the Women’s European Championships — one of the most exciting football tournaments in the world, particularly from a Bayern Munich and Germany perspective. The last tournament was only three summers ago, held in England. Germany finished runner-ups in a close loss to the hosts in the Final and it was the summer of Alexandra Popp. This time around, Popp is retired, and Germany has a new look along with a new head coach in Christian Wück. But many of the faces are the same, and seven Bayern Munich stars have been called to the lineup, led by captain Giulia Gwinn. Wück has gotten the Germans firing very quickly, and they enter the tournament among the favorites. Still, the road to the Final will be anything but easy. And if you aren’t rooting for Germany in this one, Bayern is represented in each of the four groups.Stay tuned right here at Bavarian Football Works for updates, daily match threads, and discussion with your fellow football fans!

CR Flamengo v FC Bayern München: Round Of 16 - FIFA Club World Cup 2025 Photo by S. Mellar/FC Bayern via Getty Images That means no ex-players chiming in It was recently revealed that Bayern Munich intensified their negotiations with VfB Stuttgart for the transfer of Nick Woltemade. Although both clubs are still way off in their valuations, an agreement should be made with minimal fuss. Well, at least that’s what Max Eberl believes but he digressed.“The problem these days is that we can’t consider our ideas, hold talks and try to negotiate calmly. Everyone always has something to say”, Eberl began (via @iMiaSanMia). “That makes finding a solution in negotiations difficult. The entire world now knows that we’re considering Nick Woltemade, it’s no longer a secret.” Germany v France - UEFA European Under-21 Championship 2025 Semi-Final Photo by Christian Hofer/Getty Images The director of sport went on to say that the club will try its best to get their man but won’t sulk on it if it goes awry (how many times has that happened so far?) and move on to the next transfer target. The 52-year-old added that the club must adhere to its budget regardless of who they want to sign.Eberl was then asked if Woltemade was enough to offset the departure of several attackers, he was tight-lipped. “The planning is ongoing. But the calculation is simple. Maths help, even in football”, he quipped.

CR Flamengo v FC Bayern München: Round Of 16 - FIFA Club World Cup 2025 Photo by Chris Brunskill/Fantasista/Getty Images Bayern Munich delivered in a big way in Miami. Over the weekend, Bayern Munich delivered a number of blows in a 4-2 rout to eliminate Flamengo from the FIFA Club World Cup. An own goal opened the scoring line early, Harry Kane had an impressive brace, and Leon Goretzka launched a precision shot from outside the box.I was lucky enough to make the trip to Florida to check out Bayern in person. I wanted to pass along some notes on my experience for the BFW community that was curious or potentially looking to check out a World Cup match next summer in North America. If you have any specific questions, I will be happy to answer anything in the comment section.Pre-Game FestivitiesThe ticket purchase process was pretty simple:Bought directly through the FIFA website; $150 for lower level, $50 for upper level with no feesChecked a box as a Bayern fan (did NOT have to be an official Bayern member)Sorted into the Bayern fan section behind the nets (which ended up only being about 20 rows deep on the Bayern side)Received my official tickets within an hour of purchaseDownloadable and accessible through FIFA's Club World Cup appReached out to Miami Munchen fan club via Facebook, who provided info on team hotel/arrival plus the other Bayern-related activities happening around the cityPre-purchased parking for $30 ($50-$60 on game day)Entry was well-organized; passed through THREE security checkpoints and two ticket scans but no linesBomb-sniffing dogs and well-armed Counterterrorism/local SWAT forces were everywhere (more on this later)ZERO events going on outside the stadium besides a few Flamengo fans tailgating out of their trunks Inside the StadiumThere were a handful of half-stocked merchandise spots; they had some team jerseys (which nobody needed) and shabby Club World Cup t-shirts for a ridiculous $40American national anthem was played 45 minutes before kickoff; oddly place, considering the teams were from Germany and Brazil, and the players weren’t even on the pitch yetHeavily-geared security in the stands; these guys stood on the stairs of the first row the ENTIRE game facing the crowd, but also helped fans take pictures as neededThe employees checked tickets the entire game, preventing seat snatchers from the upper deckBy chance, I happened to sit next to a BPW Discord member who was great to chat withQuite a few fans took some hard shots to the face/head/body during warmups; FIFA might need to add a disclaimer or buzzer to the casual fansIn warmups and during the game, the only entertainment included a FIFA fan cam, through the FIFA appFlamengo fans took up AT LEAST 90% of the attendance; hats off to the BraziliansThe WWE-style player entries were even weirder in person; the players entered through the smoky tunnel and still had to walk from the corner to midfieldFIFA announced 61K attendance out of the 65K capacity, however 80% of the seats behind the benches (in both tiers) were empty; FIFA needs to figure out a way to fill these seatsThe food/drinks were priced similarly to NFL games; $6 waters (in an aluminum cup), $10-$15 for beer/food; maybe a shock to internationals but par for the course to AmericansThe official aluminum cup had a Club World Cup logo (cool!) and an alcohol sponsorship (not cool for my 12-year old)Starting about 30 minutes before kickoff, the Flamengo fans had the stadium rockin’; around kickoff, the Bayern fans joined in and it was an incredible atmosphere for the full 90 minutesWhat went right?Bayern won and there were six goals total in a very exciting match; only Kingsley Coman pulled up with an injury, but it did not seem too seriousI was a little worried about a quiet stadium for long stretches (based on my Gold Cup experience at AT&T stadium last year), but that was NEVER the case; I think there might have been an earthquake when Flamengo scored in the first halfThere were no fights (to my knowledge) and everyone was friendlyThe…

FC Bayern München v CA Boca Juniors: Group C - FIFA Club World Cup 2025 Photo by S. Mellar/FC Bayern via Getty Images Bayern Munich came through against Boca Juniors... As luck would have it, our guy Soundz58 was able to attend the Bayern Munich vs. Boca Juniors game at the Club World Cup. Here is what he captured from the match...—C.SmithHot in the city and with the dramaUnder a blazing Miami sun nearing 90 degrees, FC Bayern and Boca Juniors supporters from across the globe gathered to witness a historic clash between two historic and traditional clubs. The energy was electric, and the stadium was buzzing with Boca chants as soon as we walked in.My wife, our two-year-old son, and I spent the day in Miami to catch this game. Here is our experience!Fun fact: the last time FC Bayern played in the U.S., my wife was pregnant, so you could say that our son watched the friendly against DC United from the womb. Now, he was here in person. Family tradition? The match exploded into action with a lot of pace and dominance from our boys!In the 8. minute, Michael Olise finds the net, only to have it ruled offside after a VAR check. It looked like Serge Gnabry and Boca keeper Agustín Marchesín had a little scuffle. But Bayern pressed on. In the 18. minute, Harry Kane scores the 1–0! Konrad Laimer hits a great cross, which seemed to go to Kingsley Coman, but it was blocked by Boca. However, Kane sends the ball straight to the right corner!Despite dominant play and a lot of chances, Bayern could not add another goal. Will this come to haunt us later on?Half-time! Time for some refreshing drinks to beat the heat. The second half is underway! Let’s continue strong!Boca with the equalizer! Michael Olise went for a dribble and was stopped. A quick counter from Boca with only two passes. What follows is a fantastic solo run from Miguel Merentiel which ties the game 1–1.Here is our little one’s reaction to Boca’s goal: Media 10 minutes to go. Boca is getting more dangerous… can we still win?2–1 in the 84. minute! Michael Olise tries another dribble, after which several players try to kick the ball. Laimer lays off the ball to Kane, who is quick to react and places the ball perfectly back to Olise, who knocks the ball straight into the left corner.Laimer scores another one! Or does he? He is slightly offside in the 88. minute, so we still can’t call it a night.8 minutes of added time? Crazy! And it’s over! Another win! We are definitely into the knockout stage! What a game! We had a lot of fun, and our little one is an even more avid Bayern fan now! That’s parenting done right! CR Flamengo v FC Bayern München: Round Of 16 - FIFA Club World Cup 2025 Photo by Michael Reaves/Getty Images Bayern fans continue to be spoiled by Manuel Neuer. In the first ten minutes of Bayern Munich’s 4-2 win over Flamengo, Bayern built a two-goal lead behind a furious attack. In the 15th minute, Bayern players already had hands on their hips, gasping for air in the muggy atmosphere. Seizing the opportunity, Flamengo’s Luiz Araújo swung around Konrad Laimer with an acrobatic left footed shot that looked to be a guaranteed goal.Insert the goalkeeping G.O.A.T., Manuel Neuer.Neuer flashed his catlike reflexes and cleanly blocked the shot. Joshua Kimmich roared at Neuer’s effort and the team caught a second wind.Per Bild (via @iMiaSanMia), Neuer made it clear that this is not his first rodeo.“It’s a reflex,” said Neuer. “We saw something similar with the header against Arsenal or Cristiano’s shot at Allianz Arena. These are situations in which you have implicit knowledge and processes that you practice on a daily basis. It’s important to tighten your hand so that it doesn’t move backward. You need to build up enough resistance.”Neuer was unable to keep a clean sheet but the pivotal save ensured that Bayern never trailed in the match after the sixth minute.

Max Eberl has been made aware by Liverpool that they have no intention or desire to enter discussions to sell the Colombian winger. Díaz is also Al-Nassr’s number one priority this summer. Liverpool FC v Arsenal FC - Premier League Photo by Liverpool FC/Liverpool FC via Getty Images Hmmm... Bayern Munich was linked to an unexpected target — Liverpool FC’s Luis Díaz.The 28-year-old left wing has a contract with Liverpool through 2027, but could be available this summer and the Bavarians could be poised to make a big move. With Arne Slot looking to shuffle up his attack and also — reportedly — some concerns about Díaz’s consistency, Bayern Munich could be well-poised to make a big move. So....should Bayern Munich go out and get him or...are those concerns about Díaz’s ability to stay consistent enough to make you want to avoid the move?Bayern Munich could be getting serious about Liverpool FC attacker Luis Díaz. Manchester City FC v Aston Villa FC - Premier League Photo by Carl Recine/Getty Images Any interest in Marcus Rashford, Bayern Munich fans? Rashford back on Bayern’s radar (Sport Bild’s Christian Falk)In recent months, there have been rumors detailing intermittent interest from Bayern Munich in Manchester United attacker Marcus Rashford. Now, as Bayern Munich is seeking a winger, Rashford could once again be on the radar of the Bavarians:Bayern Munich are genuinely interested in Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford. The England international has been returned to Old Trafford following his loan spell with Unai Emery’s Aston Villa. The reigning Bundesliga champions are keen on adding a left-sided winger to their ranks following Leroy Sané’s free transfer exit to Galatasaray. Rashford would represent an intriguing option, having already played 230 games on the left flank in his career. It is our understanding here at CF Bayern Insider that Rashford’s name has appeared on Bayern scouts’ so-called “longlist”. However, it should be clear that the 27-year-old is not the top option on the list. The United man currently finds himself behind top candidates like Bradley Barcola (22), Nico Williams (22), Rafael Leão (26), and Luis Diaz (28).The Red Devils are open to parting ways with the footballer and said to be demanding around €45m [£38.6m] for his services. We have heard that Bayern have yet to open talks with Marcus Rashford or the Premier League club over a potential transfer.A somewhat underwhelming loan spell with Aston Villa – where Rashford registered five Premier League goal contributions in 10 games – is unlikely to change any minds at Carrington. Indeed, as David Ornstein has confirmed for The Athletic, the United man is now open to an opportunity abroad.Barcelona has been speculated about as a potential destination, but the Blaugrana are going full steam ahead for Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams. As such, a move to another foreign suitor, like Bayern Munich, looks a comparatively more likely scenario.Eintracht on verge of inking Burkardt (Sky Germany’s Florian Plettigoal)One of the more anticipated moves going down in the Bundesliga this summer is Eintracht Frankfurt’s acquisition of Mainz 05 striker Jonathan Burkardt. Now, that move appears to be very close to happening:⤵️⏳ Eintracht Frankfurt and Mainz 05 are in final negotiations. There is not yet a full agreement between the clubs, but it is expected very soon. Jonathan Burkardt is ready for the medical. According to a report from Bild (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich could use a potential loan of Paul Wanner to VfB Stuttgart as a bargaining chip to get Nick Woltemade: Paul Wanner could help Bayern in the Nick Woltemade deal. Talks with Stuttgart have recently taken place - and Wanner is very open to the idea of joining VfB. It’s entirely conceivable that a potential Wanner loan deal will factor into the Woltemade deal. Wanner is expected to be discussed between both clubs during the negotiations for Woltemade.Wanner does not seem to be in the plans for this season at Bayern Munich and does need a home for a loan assignment.
