I am not unhappy, I am more surprised. In 2017, I hadn't imagined this scenario. But yeah, at the end of the day, this is crypto; anything is possible.

I would not read that as unhappy but as disbelieve. But I guess it could go both ways.

"Because DigiByte is being developed and supported by a Core-team and Community (all non-paid volunteers), we can never commit to dates to accomplish future projects.
Therefore, please consider future projects to be flexible in time.
Currently, DigiByte Core version 8.22 is being worked on, which has had significant improvements and optimizations implemented already. You can follow the updates, if you have a Github account, by navigating to the DigiByte Core repository and clicking the "Watch" button, and you will receive updates over email.
Furthermore, you can follow development discussions on our DigiByte Community Discord and Gitter."
It will run on 8gb linux also as long as you have at least 4gb of swap

From DigiByte Core v9.26.0-rc35 — DigiDollar V1 Oracle Rotation & Wallet Hardening. I think the developers are looking at things thoroughly. That is what we should expect.
You’ve been around a while and should know this but I reemphasize this for those who have certain expectations of what the DigiByte blockchain is or what it’s supposed to be, but realistically it’s a public, open source, permission less and decentralized L1 blockchain.
IMO those are strengths not weaknesses and nothing to be ashamed of.
