Hey guys. I struggle connecting my 2 nodes on LAN.
- no FW in between
- listen=1
port 8333 on the synced node is accessible but CLOSED

Yes, it does. BIP32 defines both unhardened and hardened branches of the hierarchical derivation. Unhardened derivation paths have the advantage of being able to derive pubkeys/addresses from pubkey-only "seedless" roots, but the disadvantage is that leaking a child privkey leaks them all. Hardened paths solve this, at the cost of needing the privkey for pubkey derivation.
Do read BIP32; this is well explained there.
