Hey so I was interested into the IAAC exam and was seeing some questions of the finals (2019..2023)


Found the questions are really easy and are on the general knowledge side.



So the qualifying questions are also easy like the finals or I am seeing something different or are those questions a piece of sample?

Qualifying question are hugely different than finals. Finals you get only few seconds to answer. And that's why the questions are easy. Whereas qualifications is a open book thing so way different

The questions are easy. Getting into the top 3 is the hardest part. The final is an MCQ where one of the questions can be asked from anywhere. Even a full score wouldn't guarantee a top 3.

But I am curious about iaac because they have telescope prizes and a noble prized astrophysicist’s lectures live for free if you get a good score in the exams,


But after seeing the exam questions, I am pretty confident about anyone with decent knowledge in astronomy and sees a lots of facts and without any kind of math knowledge can ace all the exams with full marks
