✅ The Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways (MoPSW) notified operational guidelines for two major initiatives:
▪️ Shipbuilding Financial Assistance Scheme (SBFAS)
▪️ Shipbuilding Development Scheme (SbDS)
✅ Objective
▪️ Financial assistance of 15%–25% per vessel, based on vessel category (small, large, specialised)
▪️ Strengthen domestic shipbuilding competitiveness
✅ National Shipbuilding Mission:
▪️ To ensure coordinated planning and execution of shipbuilding initiatives
✅ Shipbreaking Credit (New Provision):
▪️ Ship owners scrapping vessels at Indian yards receive 40% of scrap value as credit
▪️ Promotes circular economy and domestic ship recycling
📍 About Shipbuilding Development Scheme (SbDS)
✅ Objective: Long-term capacity and capability creation in shipbuilding

▪️ Development of greenfield shipbuilding clusters
